Distillation of plants in a still

What is distillation?

Did you know? The distillation of essential oils was developed by the Egyptians over 4500 years ago. The current principle remains the same as in antiquity, namely extracting the scents from the plant using steam.
We therefore need water, a vessel (distillation tank), a swan neck (pipe connecting the tank to the condenser), and finally a condenser.

We are truly in an alchemical process, with a rapid transition from liquid to gas, before returning again to liquid.

Chemistry, but not only!

Here, the monitoring of the distillation, beyond its technical aspects, is primarily sensory. We indeed use sight and smell to successfully carry out all our extractions. The 'nose' is the only guide that can follow a complete and high-quality distillation.
Here, it's Gaël who takes on the task! Our producer has been working with essential oils for over 20 years. He has trained his nose over the course of his experiences....

un MAS in PROVENCE has several stills to meet different distillation volume needs.

Our farm

We are primarily experts in natural products. Here, everything starts in the fields and continues until the finished product. We master every step: from planting to processing, including the formation of our essential oil.

Our crops are grown using organic farming practices, with a strong requirement: the 0phyto label, which guarantees the complete absence of phytosanitary products. A concrete commitment to preserve the quality of our plants and respect our environment.

Throughout the seasons, we cultivate a dozen aromatic plants. Each is selected for its properties, fragrance, and the uses we derive from it in our daily lives.

Our artisanal manufacturing laboratory

Transparency is part of our way of working. Our laboratory is open, directly integrated into the shop.
Our visitors can observe the manufacturing process live, follow the production steps, and better understand the role of the machines, as well as the choices we make every day.
From bottling to the creation of our products, everything is done on-site. A simple, straightforward operation that reflects our desire to produce in full coherence with our commitments.

We are currently working with a production line: this has not always been the case! Its integration marked an important evolution in our way of producing. It allows us to ensure the capacity and consistency of production that are essential, while maintaining our quality requirements.

Our distillation demonstrations

Discover the fundamental steps of transforming plants into essential oils.

All the secrets of distilling fragrant plants will be revealed to you around the still. A unique opportunity to "put your nose" into essential oils and experience this olfactory discovery live!

Discover the different scent notes extracted throughout the distillation process, understand the various products (oils, hydrosols) extracted from plants and their multiple uses.

Our distillation services

Are you looking for an authentic and artisanal method to extract the precious essences from your aromatic plants? Our steam distillation service is the ideal solution for you.

Our distillation technique respects ancestral traditions while incorporating the latest technical innovations. We use a high-quality steam still, ensuring efficient distillation and maximum preservation of the aromas and beneficial properties of the plants.

The rate for our service is determined based on your specific needs, including:
Quantity of Plants: We can distill small quantities for personal projects or larger quantities for commercial needs.
Number of Vessels: The capacity of our still allows us to distill several vessels simultaneously, thus speeding up the process for larger volumes.
One vessel can hold up to 300kg of plants.
Distillation Duration: The distillation time varies depending on the plants used and the quantity. We assess the duration needed for each project in order to provide you with an accurate quote.

To obtain a custom quote that meets your specific needs, please contact us directly.

Our team will be happy to discuss your project and provide you with all the necessary information to assist you in your plant and flower distillation project.
