What is in my mist?
Lemon verbena, a unique aromatic freshness
Lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora) is an aromatic shrub native to South America, particularly Peru and Chile.
It was introduced to Europe in the 18th century, where it quickly became established in gardens for the fineness of its fragrance.
Unlike other Mediterranean plants, it is more sensitive to cold and thrives mainly in mild and sunny climates.
Traditionally, it is used to flavor infusions, liqueurs, or certain sweet preparations, where it brings a natural lemony note, without acidity. Lemon verbena can be harvested twice a year.
