Organic Thyme from Provence Herbal Tea 50 g

Used in infusion, thyme offers a vegetal, powerful, and slightly warm flavor. It is an ideal plant to accompany seasonal changes, moments of freshness, or simply a break with a typically Provençal taste.

In cooking, thyme is a staple of Mediterranean recipes. A few leaves are enough to flavor roasted vegetables, marinades, sauces, broths, grilled dishes, stews, or preparations with olive oil. Its intense aroma adds a sunny and aromatic note to everyday recipes.

Thyme herbal tea, in detail

Thyme is one of those plants that is immediately recognizable: a strong, dry, and warm scent, typical of Mediterranean cuisine.

In herbal tea, thyme gives a drink with a strong, vegetal, and aromatic taste. It is particularly appreciated during seasonal changes when one seeks a more robust, comforting, and less floral infusion. It can be enjoyed alone or sweetened with a spoonful of honey, especially spring honey to maintain a nice roundness.

In cooking, it is one of the great classics of Mediterranean recipes. It naturally flavors roasted vegetables, baked potatoes, marinades, tomato sauces, broths, grilled dishes, or stews. A few sprigs are enough to give character without masking the taste of the food.

Harvested locally and grown organically, our thyme retains all its aromatic intensity. An authentic, practical, and versatile plant, to keep on hand for preparing herbal tea as well as enhancing everyday recipes.

Tea:

Tea contains caffeine and comes from the infusion of tea leaves.

Herbal tea:

Herbal tea, on the other hand, is made up of natural plant extracts such as flowers, roots, seeds, and leaves.

Infusion:
Infusion is a technique for preparing herbal teas. Hot water is poured over a plant, flowers, leaves, fruits, or spices, and then allowed to steep for a few minutes.

Place 1 pinch of thyme in a cup, then pour hot but not boiling water, ideally around 85 to 90 °C. Let steep 5 to 8 minutes, depending on the desired intensity, then strain before tasting.

Thyme has a naturally intense aroma, so it's best to start with a small amount and then adjust to your taste. It can be enjoyed alone for a comforting aromatic infusion, or combined with other herbs like rosemary, mint, lemon balm, or fine lavender.

Gourmet tip: add a spoonful of spring honey to soften the infusion and bring a rounder and more pleasant touch to the palate.
