Lemon balm essential oil, in detail
Lemon balm, between sweetness and freshness in the garden.
Easy to cultivate, it thrives in temperate and sunny environments.
Its latin name, derived from Greek melissa meaning 'bee', reflects this close connection with the world of beekeeping. It is often planted near houses to attract bees.
Used in culinary traditions, it delicately flavors infusions, drinks, and certain preparations, bringing a fresh and slightly lemony note.
It naturally grew in the warm and sunny regions of southern Europe before being gradually cultivated throughout Europe, particularly in monastic gardens during the Middle Ages. Today, it is widely spread in temperate areas, where it has adapted perfectly and is easily cultivated.
