The hydrolate of Rose Centifolia, in detail
The Rose Centifolia, also called the 'rose with a hundred petals'.
Its use has developed over the centuries, between aromatic traditions and everyday uses:
Cultivated for several centuries, particularly in the south of France, it has found an important place in gardens and the know-how related to fragrant plants. An emblematic rose, known since antiquity and a descendant of an ancient rose bush that has undergone numerous hybridizations in the past, first in Holland and then in France.
The blooming of this rose reaches its peak in May, giving birth topetals of rare quality and fragrance..
The harvest of roses is very meticulous; they must be picked at dawn on the first day of blooming.
